According to the investigation statistics about the number of overseas Japanese residents abroad whom Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on May 31, the number of the Philippine Japanese residents abroad was with 16,570 and was the 17th place with order according to the country (area).

Of these, as for the number of the permanent residents, the number of the long-term stayers is 11,147 people (the 15th place) in 5,423 people (the twelfth place).

These numbers are added up based on "a residence notice" reported to Japanese Embassy, the consulate as of October 1, 2017.

A residence period is not included in the transients such as the tourists less than three months.

One in the Asia region than the Philippines with much number of the Japanese residents abroad is China, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam. I am high-ranking and am located when I see the ratio in 13-17 rank in the investigation in these 5 years worldwide, but, by the comparison in the Asia region, I am low-ranking and am located.
